  3. [+44, -0] He must be eating well in the middle of all this…he’s put on a lot of weight.

  5. [+7, -0] The entertainment industry seriously needs to recruit idols only after conducting thorough backgound checks..

KPOP NOW – [Hollywood] Adele’s diet success stuns SNL viewers

ArticleAdele succeeded in losing 45kg… What is the “Sirtfood” Diet?

Source: Hankyung

On the 24th, Adele made an appearance on SNL as a host and stunned viewers with her new look.

Adele stated, “I know that my appearance has changed a lot from when you saw me last time. In addition, she wore a black see-through dress and showed off her unchanging vocals.

Adele reportedly lost 45kg and became beautiful after following the “Sirtfood diet”, a weightloss diet that activates sirtuin , a protein in the body that specializes in cellular health and metabolism.

  1. [+452, -8] Quitting alcohol and smoking is seriously amazing!
  2. [+264, -23] Dozens of people are going to cling to this as the end result. The difficult part will be sticking to this and maintaining it to the end.
  3. [+98, -18] Just eat less and move a lot more and you’ll lose weight too.
  4. [+22, -18] I think she was more attractive before…
  5. [+12, -1] Hul…is that really her? I thought I was looking at someone else.
  6. [+11, -4] If I was rich like her, I’d be able to lose 45kg too while eating delicious Korean food and afford to pay for massages to prevent sagging skin.
  7. [+9, -2] Guys, don’t fall for this. This only works for famous celebrities because they have the money and time to devote to it. They could eat pork belly daily and still lose weight because they have money to pay for personal trainers etc.
  8. [+5, -0] Please stop advertising these fad diets…ugh. There’s no logic as absurd as telling people they can lose weight without exercise. If you only want to lose weight and still maintain healthy fats and muscle, then do a healthy diet and exercise. I quit exercising and ended up gaining 20kg and eventually ended up yo-yo dieting. You’re not a bird, don’t eat like one.
  9. [+5, -0] Is that her voice after she quit smoking? It’s monstrous…
  10. [+3, -1] If you really want to lose weight in Korea go to Juvi*…ㅎㅎ.

KPOP NOW – Netizens question SM’s timing in releasing their new girl group teaser

ArticleSM’s new rookie girl group logo released just in time ㅋㅋ

Source: Pann

“They must’ve been in a hurry because of Irene”

  1. [+767, -12] I bet they’re going to permanently halt all of Red Velvet’s activities now because of Irene. They’ll push their new girl group hard and limit RV’s promos to solo schedules.
  2. [+614, -5] They’ll come out and say they’re just sticking to their original plans to launch a new generation of rookies and pay up to make the group popular ㅋㅋㅋ.
  3. [+578, -47] I’m a Reveluv too and I want to cry when I think of the other members. I feel like all that’s left is for the group to disband. I don’t think they’ll re-sign their contracts anymore. SM girl groups aren’t like their male idols they’ll probably just let them go and replace them.
  4. [+391, -5] But really…the logo is really weird no? What happened to SM? They’re logo masters. Their logo looks like something you can find on the inside of a soju lid.
  5. [+270, -2] I feel so bad for Wendy and Seulgi…they’re both so talented so I hope SM doesn’t punish them and let them do solo schedules instead. What is SM doing??
  6. [+251, -7] aespa??? What the heck is up with that name? It’s seriously bad.
  7. [+241, -2] They’re making them debut right now? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ. They’re either going to bomb really bad or come out ok because of their charm and talents.
  8. [+169, -1] Guys, the article is out, SM rookie girl to debut in November.
  9. [+147,, -1] aespa zone sounds like the name of a famous hot spring or massage parlor..
  10. [+120, -7] It looks like they’re really in a hurry ㅋㅋㅋㅋ. So what’s going to happen to the rest of the members? Besides…Irene is the leader too ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ. I’m a Reveluv too so I hope we get to see a JoWenSeul unit finally.

KPOP NOW – Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-hee’s alleged final letter leaked online

Article: “What’s the use of money?” Lee Kun-hee’s last letter?… Samsung “It’s not written by the deceased”

Source: Kookmin Ilbo

Contents of an alleged letter by late Samsung Group Chairman Lee Kun-hee is spreading online.

On the 26th, a post titled “The last letter left by Chairman Lee Kun-hee” spread in an online community and Kakaotalk.

The letter stated, “Do not be proud if you have money and power. Know how to be satisfied with trivial things even if you’re not rich. Know how to rest even if you’re not tired, move and exercise no matter how busy you are. There will never be anyone who will hurt you without your permission so if you lose something, you can find it again or buy it. But the only thing you can’t get back forever is one’s life. The pursuit of infinite wealth has made me just a greedy old man. In addition, many things that I once knew and enjoyed I took for granted. Money, power, position now is just garbage. For people living in their first half, don’t live it too badly. People living in the second half, the game is not over yet so try to love yourself even now for a happy last year.”

The letter was shared on Katalk by a 40yr old office worker Mr. Park Mo, who reportedly received the letter from an acquaintance that knew him. However, the letter soon turned out to be fake?

As contents of the post spread, Samsung released a statement writing, “The post circulating online is fake. It’s not written by the deceased and has been circulating in the online community since over a year ago.”

Despite the clarification, the letter is causing a stir online.

  1. [+301, -16] What good is money? Nothing is as important as money in this world. Of course there are many things that are more valuable but if you ask what’s the use of money in front of someone that wants to die because of it you’re just asking to be cursed out~
  2. [+197, -8] Huh? I can tell this isn’t Chairman Lee’s writing at all. The writing isn’t classy. I can feel the poverty in the writing. The person that wrote this hasn’t enjoyed any wealth.
  3. [+119, -12] Of course it’s fake. First off, the writing is too low level. It doesn’t make any sense that he’d describe himself as a monster. There’s no way someone like him that lived through his beliefs would have regrets like that. He might regret his childhood maybe..
  4. [+72, -3] I don’t understand what the hell fake people like them are thinking..ugh.
  5. [+27, -3] Just like the words of Genghis Khan and Admiral Yi Sun-sin,,,this was also a lie
  6. [+13, -1] From the first few lines alone I knew this wasn’t Chairman Lee Kun-hee. This is something anyone living an ordinary life will knowㅋㅋㅋㅋ.
  7. [+7, -0] Only wealthy people that don’t have to worry about money would say having money is not important…
  8. [+3, -0] The two most important things in life: 1. Health 2. Money

  1. [+6,942, -84] May he rest in peace. Rest well in heaven…you’ve suffered.
  2. [+4,862, -460] Samsung Lee Kunhee was the leader in the family but did it quietly. Look at how shameless Park Won Soon’s funeral was, making noise all over Seoul for 5 days.
  3. [+2,587, -275] Under the umbrella of Samsung, it’s global employees, family members and everyone that’s attached to it…I’m really thankful to you all. Rest in peace. Thank you for preventing left-wing parasites from deliberately defaming our economy ㅜㅜ.  It would’ve been nice if you could contribute more to the Korean economy. This is a huge loss to the nation.
  4. [+1,388, -159] Our country is full of people that are dogs and pigs. Only celebrities and athletes like Son Heung-min, Kim Yu-na, Psy, BTS, Yoo Jae-seok, Baek Jong-won, and great people like Lee Kun-hee are the true foundation of our country.
  5. [+1,231, -42] Chairman Lee Kun-hee deserves all the praise.
  6. [+670, -14] It would have been nice if he lived until the age of 87 but to go at 78…Hul~ I feel sad that you went too soon. Thank you for bringing Korea to such an advanced state.
  7. [+526, -12] He is the person that raised Korea. Samsung’s semi-conductors and smartphones were a huge stepping stone that advanced our Korean economy. Thank you and rest well.
  8. [+481, -2] Our small country played in a big part in attracting worldwide attention because of him. May he rest in peace.
  9. [+270, -4] He’s been more helpful to our country’s economy than our 10 presidents. I’ll use the Galaxy well…rest well.
  10. [+221, -8] Without Samsung there’s no Korea.

KPOP NOW – Choi Jong-bum found innocent of illegally filming Goo Hara’s sex tape

Article: Choi Jong-bum receives final sentence of one year in prison…acquitted of illegally filming

Source: Yonhap News

Choi Jong-bum (29) has received final sentence of one year in prison for assaulting late Goo Hara.

On the 15th, Supreme Court Chief Justice Park Jeonghwa confirmed prior courts ruling of one year in prison for assaulting, and threatening Goo Hara but acquitted Choi for illegally filming the late singer.

The judge stated, “The fact that Goo Hara deleted the sex tape and photos from Choi’s cell phone is grounds to acquit him of the charge. The two were both able to delete the tape because they had access with the same password. Also, Goo Hara took photos of Choi’s body.”

Choi was sentenced to one year for inflicting bruises to Goo Hara’s arms and legs in the process of an argument in September 2018 and threatening to release the sex tape to the media. He was also accused of illegally filming Goo Hara who was soaking in a bathtub without consent.

  1. [+2,555, -85] A person died…what is a year??? Are they serious right now?
  2. [+1,134, -20] This is a sentence at the level of cultivating criminals. They’re basically saying even if you kill someone, you’ll only get a one year sentence. How is what he did he did any different than murder??
  3. [+650, -16] Uh, the judiciary in our country is still far away from reform…
  4. [+341, -16] Wow… what a waste of Goo Hara’s life. Aigoo~I’m so angry I can’t even imagine how her family is taking this.
  5. [+240, -2] He got a 1yr prison sentence because they weren’t good at proving him guiltyㅋㅋㅋ.
  6. [+191, -2] Is the law really for the people? Goo Hara’s family must seriously be vomiting blood. Even the public that saw this on the news is feeling rage inside because of how unfair this is. It’s because of their interpretation of the law and judgements that we need to strengthen our laws regarding crimes against women. Her naked photos were spread on the internet and her life ruined and all he got was a year??? If a celebrity committed suicide over something like this imagine how hell of an experience this is for an ordinary person.
  7. [+101, -7] If this was his daughter would that judge have only given him a year??? His blood would’ve been boiling inside out.
  8. [+94, -16] Wow. A person died because of him and he lived just fine and only got a one-year prison sentence. They even came out and said he was innocent of illegally filming her when he threatened to expose the sex tape to the world that he took when they were dating. Ladies, why are we dating men….??? Seriously, I’m wondering why are we even dating ㅠㅜㅠㅜㅠ???? I’m burning inside with rageㅠㅜㅠㅠㅜㅠㅠ.
  9. [+68, -2] 1.5 years in prison and 3 years probation for bruising someone’s arms and legs in the process of a quarrel?? What a strange judgment. Prosecutor-ssi, please get it right… isn’t this assault? So ridiculous.
  10. [+56, -6] Korean law is on the side of male criminals.

KPOP NOW – Stylist A clarifies she never received a settlement from SM when she met up with Irene

ArticleStylist A, “NO, we never agreed on a settlement…Irene directly apologized to me”

Source: Money Today

Stylist A that exposed Red Velvet Irene’s “abuse” controversy has given an additional position.

A wrote on her Instagram on 23rd, “I wanted to get an apology from C directly so I met up with C [Irene] and heads of company B [SM]. I was never an official stylist for Red Velvet I was just commissioned by the company as an outsourced stylist for 1 day for a filming schedule. It happened to one other junior editor and one assistant who helped me with my schedule that day. Those two also planned a place to meet up for an apology.”

A added, “There is no such thing as a monetary agreement (with Irene). Yesterday, the word “settlement” never even came up. It was a meeting to receive an apology, not an agreement. We asked company B and C for an official apology where they thoroughly acknowledged their fault, apologized and promised not to act that way in the future.”

A also warned fans of Irene writing, “If you’re a fan that really cares about Irene, please stop crossing the line now.”

She also appealed to fans and media saying, “I hope you will stop writing speculative posts and articles that will leave greater wounds and damage to everyone.”

  1. [+1,391, -10] At this point, it’s industry vs. industry. They went through that hell together as a group for 20 minutes so as a senior she probably thought she couldn’t just let it go. If she did, the hoobae’s would’ve chosen to just endure it since their sunbae did too. They would’ve thought “even our senior had to endure the unfair treatment and has no power…” Uh~the only thing they could do in that situation is just cry..
  2. [+1,390, -12]So she wasn’t the only one abused, the whole group was..? The victim really took responsibility..
  3. [+1,275, -11] In summary, nothing good will come out if you dig further because worse things will come outㅇㅇㄹ. The fans are picking at a beehiveㅇㅇㄹ.
  4. [+878, -2] But what kind of apology is shorter than the victim’s statement?
  5. [+677, -3] Now this is a post from a real adult
  6. [+501, -1] She wanted to receive an apology in person to protect her dignity as a human. I sincerely empathize with her. I’ve gone through something similar at my job and with my chaebol mother-in-law and felt that no matter what I tried, no one saw what I was going through so I just endured the unfair treatment. But if you keep bowing down, they take you for granted and you end up hating yourself and suffering mental damage on your own. Especially in a situation where your juniors are being abused? I really applaud her courage as a senior. You did well.
  7. [+398, -3]Wow, I don’t know if its because of her job as a editor but that was very well written.
  8. [+381, -5] I can’t even begin to imagine what kind of sh** they had to endure in that hellish 20 minutes..? Irene’s character is seriously trash!
  9. [+300, -4] And yet her make-up artist Soo-kyung came out with a statement on her own defending Irene with this much evidence and witnesses?????????????? How much money did they pay her to turn this into a non-issue? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ. Is she sure she’s talking about the same Ireneㅎㅎㅎ?
  10. [+179, -0] Irene is someone from a huge entertainment company…they’re 100% burying this with money.
